It’s most definitely the time of year where it’s easy to over indulge as we spend time celebrating with family and friends all with great food and wine. It’s also a time to reflect on the year that was and be thankful for what the year has brought you.
However, with all this indulging, surrounded by food and wine – we also want you to think about taking care of your body from the inside out so here are some of our tips to taking care of YOU this festive season.
Rest & Relaxation
It is the time for holidays, but sometimes on holidays we make ourselves so busy we forget to take time out for ourselves. So this holiday season take some time to find a good book or pick up your favourite magazine (ours is Real Living) and take some time to rest your mind & body.
Give the gift of time
The things that provide us with the most love are the things that you can’t put a price tag on. And this is the gift of time.
Time spent with family & friends this Christmas is a giving yourself the gift of life long memories. Be sure to be present in the moment, even if that means spending hours building the Lego set that Santa delivered on Christmas morning or learning the dance moves to Taylor Swifts latest song or catching up friends and opening a second bottle of wine, just because you can.
Look for the healthy choice
As we approach the Christmas table, it’s often full of food that we just can’t wait to load our plates up with. Before loading your plates, take a moment to think about the healthy choice. This could be filling your plate with everything you can, but you have already scheduled a run in for Boxing Day. Or maybe dessert is your favourite dish so go light on the main and then treat yourself.
Sometimes the healthy choice is not all about food. Why not take the time to schedule in a family bike ride and not only make a healthy choice but give the gift of time.
And finally, make sure you keep up your water intake.
Be Thankful
Finally, take the time to reflect and be thankful of all that you have achieved this year.
Throughout the year, it can be so easy to get caught up with the next task on the to-d0 list or focus on the set backs but now is the time to truly acknowledge your success, from the small wins to the big wins and everything in between.
We are excited to be taking a break this Christmas to spend time with family and friends and look forward to seeing you all in 2018.
The clinics are closed from Sunday 24th December and re-opening on Tuesday 2nd January 2018.
We wish you a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year,
